Wirbelsturm im Material: Dresdner Physiker gewinnt Preis für weltweit erste Abbildung eines 3D-Magnetfelds
Ein Dresdner Forschungsteam um den Festkörperphysiker Dr. Axel Lubk hat es geschafft, das Magnetfeld winziger magnetischer Nanowirbel – Skyrmionen genannt – mit einer sieben Millionstel Millimeter genauen Auflösung dreidimensional abzubilden. Das ist zum ersten Mal überhaupt gelungen.

Elektronen-Familie erzeugt bisher unbekannten Aggregatzustand
Ein internationales Forschungsteam des Exzellenzclusters ct.qmat hat in einem Metall einen vollkommen neuartigen Aggregatzustand nachgewiesen, der durch die Verbindung von vier Elektronen entsteht – bis jetzt kannte man lediglich Elektronen-Paare. Die Ergebnisse wurden jetzt in der Fachzeitschrift Nature Physics veröffentlicht.

Spins unter Kontrolle
Superempfindliche Quanten-Sensoren haben das Potenzial, die Bildgebung in der Medizin, die Navigation oder die Informationstechnologie zu revolutionieren. Einem internationalen Forschungsteam unter Federführung von Wissenschaftler:innen des Exzellenzclusters ct.qmat ist ein Durchbruch gelungen, der den Weg dahin enorm verkürzen könnte.

Ein Trichter für Licht
Die Forschungsgruppe um Ronny Thomale von der Universität Würzburg hat gemeinsam mit der Arbeitsgruppe um Alexander Szameit in Rostock ein Trichtersystem für Licht entwickelt. Es könnte als Grundlage für eine neue Generation von hypersensiblen optischen Detektoren und Sensoren für zukünftige Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien dienen. Die Ergebnisse wurden jetzt in der Zeitschrift Science veröffentlicht.
